Happy 5th Birthday, Harrison!!!
He was so excited to turn 5 and be able to go to school this year!
He is really into Beyblades, so he got lots for his birthday this year. He also got a cool backpack for school! AND since he rides his bike without training wheels, he got a fun horn to accessorize his bike!
We have been doing friend birthday parties every other year, usually on the even years, but since we were busy moving, painting, etc, Harrison didn't get one last year, so he got one this year. Does that mean he gets another next year, hmmm, not sure yet about that. ;) We had a sports/water games theme. It was the perfect summer day for water games! Notice our ugly dead grass? That was due to the drought we were in this summer. Now our yard is much greener now (but filling with weeds rather quickly - the weed control we did this spring was kind of a waste since we haven't planted new grass!).
Nine little boys plus cousins, brothers and sisters made for quite the energetic, crazy party! BUT it was done and over with in 2 short hours - talk about 2 hours that flew by! Whew! Thank heavens my SIL and mom came to help!
Harrison wanted a sports theme, so I TRIED making a basketball cake - easy and simple, although it definitely wouldn't win a contest for looks! But it sure tasted yummy!
