Tyler's birthday celebration

So he started off with donuts for breakfast (fast becoming a tradition!) and then I brought in Rice Krispie Treats for his class. When we were all home, he opened his presents and then we went out to eat at Arni's with Grandpa and Grandma Allen. When we got home we sang Happy Birthday and ate birthday chocolate chip cookies.

He really wanted a new watch, since he lost his somewhere in all the moves probably, and he also wanted a pocket knife (for what, I don't know - it can only get him in trouble!). Like the way he's holding the knife!? :) He also got Obi-Wan-Kenobi and General Grievous action figures and an Iron Man DS game from my family. I think, all in all, he got everything he wanted on his birthday list!

He got a light saber, Star Wars game and money from his grandparents. Plus a yummy meal at his favorite restaurant!

We aren't big cake eaters, so I decided to make cookies, which I knew would get eaten up faster, but with all the Halloween candy, I ended up having to throw out about 3 or 4. Ugh, Tyler's birthday is just too close to Halloween, so we get sweetened out!

Happy Birthday Tyler!

Happy 7th Birthday, Tyler!

We started the day off with Tyler opening his presents - some new tennis shoes, a motorized Spiderman toothbrush, money for his Nintendo DS (he's saving up all his birthday money to buy one!) and a new bike! Kent actually spiffed up one he got from a lady he works with and made it brand new looking. When he was fixing it up he told Tyler it was for a friend of his so that Tyler wouldn't know it was for him. You could tell Tyler really wanted it and even asked if he could have it instead. He got what he asked for today and was so excited!

After a breakfast of French toast we headed to the gym to go swimming. It took Harrison a while to warm up to the idea of swimming b/c he probably had nightmares from the last time I took him swimming and I slipped on the ladder going in. He was probably traumatized after that! But after a while he started loving it. After swimming we headed over to Arni's for some pizza and then we ran to Walmart to pick out the flavor of ice creams for Tyler's ice cream cake I made for tomorrow's celebration. Then it was back home for naps (Morgan, Harrison and me!) and Kent took Tyler to ride his new bike. After naps it was time to start cleaning up the house for our birthday guests (my family) tomorrow.

It was a beautiful day to celebrate Tyler's birthday and we all had a lot of fun. We love you so much Tyler and love having you a part of our family! What a wonderful seven years it's been!

T-ball and Tyler

So tonight was Tyler's first t-ball game. He did great! He got a run and 3/4 (he was tagged RIGHT at home plate!) and he got an outfield ball. I could tell he got a little bored in outfield, but that is to be expected! They don't have strikes/outs when they are batting and they don't keep score, so everyone feels like a winner. :) The coaches are super nice and really try to make all the kids feel important and that they are doing a good job. Tyler absolutely LOVES playing and he is meeting a lot of kids he will go to school with next year. Here are a few highlights from his game.
