My little Entrepreneur . . .

At one of Morgan's Activity Day nights at church they made cute pillows.  She decided she wanted to start up a pillow business with her friend, so Maggie's mom donated some fabric.  Morgan even used some of her own money to buy some pillow stuffing.  I helped her measure, cut out, pin, sew, stuff, and then sew up the stuffing hole.  They have done a lot of the work themselves with me helping where needed.

 The first 5 pillows!

They were able to make 3 more pillows in this material and have sold all of them!

I found some more material that they have made pillows with as well as Maggie's mom, so we've got more sewing to do!  So far, they have sold 5 pillows and have 2 more orders!  Morgan is quite the entrepreneur and is pretty motivated and creative.  I am quite proud of her!

Sweet, adorable, beautiful, and just plain CUTE sisters!!!

Aren't these little girls just the CUTEST, SWEETEST, MOST ADORABLE AND BEAUTIFUL things you have ever seen????!!!!!

I bought the fabric ages ago when I found what looked to be a fairly simple ruffle skirt on Pinterest.  I didn't have my own sewing machine and I wanted Callie to be a bit older before I attempted  to make matching skirts.  So this summer I finally started the project.

I don't know exactly what happened - whether I measured wrong or what - but Callie's was WAY too short and Morgan's was knee length ON ME, so I had to add another ruffle to Callie's skirt and shorten Morgan's skirt without undoing all my hard work.  Talk about a pain!!! Morgan's was a ton more of a headache, but in the end they turned out cute.  The seams are not all straight and the hems may not all be completely equal, but from a quick glance, they look fine.

I found these green flowers in my craft supplies that matched perfectly to make barrettes, so that was fun too!

I loved watching Morgan helping out her little sister.

Easy as pie bandana shirt/dress

I've been wanting to make something handsewn for Morgan for forever, but have never taken the time to buy fabric (since I have to go to Lafayette now to buy any kind of fabric!!!) or sit down and do something I've never attempted before, so when I saw this link on my friend's blog I just HAD to try it! Super-dee-duper easy, cute and fun! I was thinking about maybe using a pink bandana since I already had a torquise colored ribbon, but when I went to the men's section, I didn't find any pink ("hmm" I thought, "I guess they are out of pink"). It then struck me THE NEXT DAY that there probably was never any pink in the men's dept. to begin with! I'm such a dork! Maybe I'll look in the women's another time. ;) And it probably WOULD HAVE only taken me 15 minutes to make, but of course I was interrupted about a million times.

And I threw one in of Tyler just to mix things up a bit, plus it is Morgan's skillful doing too!

Baby shower - all finished!

So the reason I haven't blogged or done much else on the computer is because I have been really busy getting stuff ready for my sister-in-law's, Christina, baby shower this Saturday. I've added about five blogs today to catch up, so get ready to scroll! :) My other SIL, Kelly, has done a lot of the planning for the shower, but I volunteered to do the games and some of the food. I've also been exhausted (NO, I'm NOT pregnant!) b/c Harrison has been getting up 4-6 times a night!!!! I think it's time to make him cry it out b/c it just puts a strain on everyone when I'm tired, grumpy, and needing to take naps. Anyway, that's a different story. I am so excited because I got some cute prizes (thanks Heather!) and I made some ADORABLE burp cloths (thanks for the idea Hil!) for my SIL. It's been so fun putting together the games, prizes and gifts. Kent just rolls his eyes and says if it were him and a guy friend was having a baby he would just skip the shower and give him a gift! So like a guy! :) Where's the fun in THAT!? Anyway, here is a picture of the burp cloths:

I used paisley flannel and striped chenille. AREN'T THEY JUST DARLING!!!???

Here is a picture of the prizes (and gift for baby and mom). . .hmmm, what could be inside? (I realized I needed two more gift bags, Heather, but I got them super cheap!) I guess since no one who reads my blog is going to be there (at least I don't think so) I will tell you. They are a variety of bath gel, hand soap, lotion, and body cream in citrus coconut and cherry blossom scents. I am also doing a "guess the number of M&Ms in the baby bottle" game and so the M&Ms will be the prize for that one.

We're playing: guess the baby ad, don't say the name "baby", guess how big Christina's belly is, guess the number of M&Ms, and my personal favorite, guess the candy bar melted in the diaper. :) If we have time or want to I've got one where you try to find as many mini baby pins in a bowl of rice as possible, blindfolded.

The food: chicken salad sandwiches, mandarin orange/almond salad, fruit w/ dip, lemonade and cake. Carol, Kent's mom, is decorating the cake and does a great job. She made my basket weave wedding cake and it turned out beautiful!

I'm really looking forward to it!
